Free Launch Announcement Post Generator for X, LinkedIn & Bluesky

Enter a product name, a one-line tagline, and a URL. The page writes a launch post for X, Bluesky, Threads, LinkedIn, and Mastodon, and counts it against that network's own limit. It runs in the browser.

Drafts are written in this browser. Nothing is uploaded.

Limits checked October 2026.

A missing https:// is added in the draft when the value looks like a domain.

Tone

Plain states the facts. Excited is a bit warmer, without emoji.

X

0 / 280

Add a product name, tagline, and URL.

Weighted count from X's counting-characters page. An http(s) or www link counts as 23. Emoji counts as 2. CJK counts as 2.

Bluesky

0 / 300

Add a product name, tagline, and URL.

Unicode grapheme clusters, which is the 300-character limit on Bluesky's intent-links page. The link counts in full.

Threads

0 / 500

Add a product name, tagline, and URL.

Threads' posts docs cap a text post at 500 characters and count an emoji as its UTF-8 bytes.

LinkedIn

0 / 3,000

Add a product name, tagline, and URL.

LinkedIn Help says a post can contain up to 3,000 characters. The link counts in full.

Mastodon

0 / 500

Add a product name, tagline, and URL.

Mastodon's posting guide sets a default of 500. An http(s) link counts as 23. A server can use another cap. This counter uses 500.

A post for each network

The form takes the product name, a one-line tagline, the URL, where you are launching, an optional offer, and a tone. Plain keeps the draft to the facts. Excited is warmer, and it still skips the firework emoji and the 'thrilled to announce' opener. Each box is a draft you can paste. Edit a box if you want to cut a line before you copy it.

The page does not ask you to sign up, and it does not send the draft anywhere. The text stays in this browser. Copy uses the clipboard on your device.

Where the limits come from

X's counting-characters page caps a post at 280 characters. A URL counts as 23 characters because X wraps it with t.co, short or long. Emoji count as 2, including a skin-tone emoji and a family emoji. CJK characters count as 2. The counter uses the weights in the twitter-text v3 config that page links to: code points through U+10FF count as 1, a short list of punctuation marks count as 1, and the default weight is 2. A link is counted as a URL when it starts with http://, https://, or www. Text is normalized to NFC before that count, which is what that page describes.

Bluesky's intent-links page says the post length limit is 300 characters, more precisely 300 Unicode grapheme clusters. The link is part of the post and counts in full. This page counts graphemes against 300.

Threads' developer docs limit a text post to 500 characters and say emoji are counted as the number of UTF-8 bytes. A normal letter still counts as one. An emoji counts as the bytes in that emoji, so a single emoji is usually 4, and a joined sequence is longer. LinkedIn Help says a post can contain up to 3,000 characters and, if you go past that, points you to an article instead. LinkedIn does not publish a separate weight for links, emoji, or CJK, so this counter counts graphemes and counts the URL in full.

Mastodon's posting guide says the default character limit is 500. Links that start with http:// or https:// count as 23 characters, whatever their length. In a mention written as @name@server, only the @name part counts and the domain does not. The guide calls 500 the default because a server can run a different cap. This counter uses 500. A post that fits here can still be over the limit on a server that set a lower number.

Keep the post specific

The drafts name the product, the place, and the tagline, then the link. They do not invent a customer count or a launch rank. If you add an offer, it is copied in as a 'Launch offer' line and it counts toward the limit. A long tagline is the usual reason an X or Bluesky draft goes over. Shorten that line, or edit the draft in the box, until the counter is inside the limit.

Directory forms have their own length checks. The launch copy character counter measures a tagline and a description for those forms. The launch week planner lays out a week of submission dates. The drafts here are the social posts, not the directory form.

What the subscription does not change

Premium Launcher is $300 per month for one license key on Aura++, Earlyhunt, Indiehunt, Uno Directory, MakerHunt, and SideHunt. The license does not publish these drafts, and it does not raise the character limit on X, Bluesky, Threads, LinkedIn, or Mastodon. The subscription is on pricing.

Questions

Does this page upload what I type?

No. The product name, tagline, URL, launch place, offer, and tone stay in this browser. The drafts are built on the page. Copy uses the clipboard on your device. Nothing is sent to Premium Launcher or to X, Bluesky, Threads, LinkedIn, or Mastodon.

How does X count a post and a link?

X's counting-characters page says a post can contain up to 280 characters. A URL counts as 23 characters because X wraps it with t.co, whether the link is short or long. Emoji count as 2, including skin-tone and family emoji. CJK characters count as 2. This page uses those rules, with the character weights from the twitter-text v3 config linked from that page. A link is treated as a URL when it starts with http://, https://, or www.

What is the Bluesky post limit?

Bluesky's action-intent docs say the post length limit is 300 characters, more precisely 300 Unicode grapheme clusters. The link is part of the text and counts in full. This page counts graphemes against 300.

What limits do Threads, LinkedIn, and Mastodon publish?

Threads' developer docs limit a text post to 500 characters and count emoji as the number of UTF-8 bytes. LinkedIn Help says a post can contain up to 3,000 characters and does not publish a separate weight for links, so the link counts in full. Mastodon's posting guide says the default character limit is 500 and that links starting with http:// or https:// count as 23 characters. Only the username in an @name@server mention counts. A Mastodon server can use a different cap. This page uses the 500 default.

Does a Premium Launcher subscription post these for me?

No. You copy the draft and paste it yourself. Premium Launcher is $300 per month for premium launches on Aura++, Earlyhunt, Indiehunt, Uno Directory, MakerHunt, and SideHunt. It does not publish posts on X, Bluesky, Threads, LinkedIn, or Mastodon, and it does not change their limits.
